Audi SQ5 Intermittent Wandering Steering

Recently at Auto Studio, an Audi SQ5 was brought in for a service after the customer experienced that the vehicle had intermittent wandering.

Symptoms:

  • Poor vehicle tracking

 What can cause a vehicle to have Intermittent wondering?

Worn steering rack, tie rod ends, and/or control arm bushes.

How to fix a car with Intermittent wandering?

After diagnosis, it was found that the lower control arm bushes and caster bushes were worn out and needed to be replaced. Following this, a wheel alignment was also completed.

Figure 1 shows the front control arm bush removed and Figure 2 shows the tools required to install the bushes.
